July 2010

30/7/10. We mentioned at the end of last month a shoot at the Spa Valley Railway 40's Weekend. Well, just to round of the report, here are a few shots taken on the day.

15/7/10. What a buzz was in the air recently. Having gone through a fairly quiet period, a Boxley shoot was on! Scripts to be written, actors to be contacted and venue to be arranged. Off we set, cameras at the ready and what a beautiful day. The setting was idyllic, and what a beautiful house it was - set snugly in woodland and perfect for our setting to recreate the period of time we had researched for. The weather was perfect and filming was set. Just another great cameo achieved ready for our completion of the Boxley project.

6/7/10. Recently we spent a day filming cameos for our second film looking at the history of Boxley Parish. This time we are concentrating on the 'families' of Boxley including the Lushington family and the Best-Shaws. A great day was had by all and we would like to say thank you to all the actors who came along and made the day possible.

4/7/10. One of our group's members, Gary, completed the National Three Peaks Challenge over the 1st and 2nd of July. Walking/climbing the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon. To see how he got on, take a look at the challenge team's website - www.medway3peakers.co.uk.

14/6/10. This month, a short article from Jeff on choosing a good computer monitor - an essential piece of kit (especially in you digitally edit your videos using your PC).

One thing all of us at Valley Films believe, is that you can only do justice to your films by using experienced actors/actresses.

We are very keen to visit local amateur productions to see actors in play (do you have a production team we can come and visit?); and although you can see from our films we already work with a number of very talented actors/actresses, we are always happy to talk to and work with new talent.

If you are interested in acting in one of our future productions, you have an idea for a script that you think is a world beater, or if you would just like further information about Valley Films, please Contact Us.
