In addition to the set piece films listed on the Short Films page, we have also been asked
to film a number of events for local organizations including the Sea Cadets
& the Marine Cadets.
Buttercups Goat Sanctuary

community project to support the great work carried out by the goat
sanctuary. Filmed mainly in the latter part of 2009, an ongoing
relationship has developed between the sanctuary and the members of Valley
Films.
An English Country Church

Documentary: An English Country Church was
specifically produced for competition entry using film shot as part of our
local history project. Filmed during 2007 & 2008, the programme shows both
the history and the modern uses of a local parish church in the heart of
Kent.
Provincial Grand Master Discretionary Awards

Documentary: Held at Chatham Dockyard on 8th October 2005. This was the first time the Freemasons had held their annual award
ceremony in the dockyard. The event was organised by Bill Stephney,
Unit Chairman of the Chatham Royal Marine Cadets. For more information see
the films home page.
The Docking of HMS Kent

Documentary. During the HMS Cavalier Reunion weekend, we were
lucky enough to gain access to HMS Kent - a serving ship of the line.
Several of our team rose very early in the morning, caught a naval launch
and joined the ship on the Medway, following her progress as she entered
the Historic Dockyard at Chatham. We wish to extend our thanks to the
Captain and crew for their hospitality.
HMS Cavalier Reunion

Documentary. A project recording the events at the 60th Anniversary celebration
weekend for HMS Cavalier which took place in Medway over
the May Bank Holiday 2004. This exciting shoot involved a variety of
locations over a three day period.
Sea Cadets Trafalgar Day Parade

Documentary. A 15 minute record of the assembly, march and church parade
by Chatham Sea Cadets to celebrate Trafalgar day.
Sea Cadet Promotional Film

Promotional. A 3-minute film aimed at recruitment for the Sea Cadets.
This shows the range and depth of activities of the organisation.
The Gun Run

News feature. A gun carriage turns over during a run trapping a young
cadet. One of our cameramen was on the scene when this incident took place.
The film was subsequently used at the board of enquiry and led to the
recommendation of a commendation for the two cadets involved in the rescue.
We were invited to film this ceremony. This film is a record of both the
incident and the presentation.
Sea Cadet Memorial Parade
Documentary. On a foggy evening in December 1951 a group of cadets were
being marched to an event when a bus ran them down. 23 boys were killed and
the event triggered a day of National mourning.
50 years later a memorial parade attended by many dignitaries including
HRH Duke of Edinburgh was held. We were privileged to be asked to film the
event. The subsequent film covered all aspects of the day including the
dedication of a plaque by HRH.
Luton Village

Social record and documentary. A nostalgic look at a village that now is
part of the huge conurbation that is the Medway Valley Towns. This video is
the outcome of many years of research by a local historian.
Marine Cadets Centenary Parade

Factual. We were asked to record the centenary parade to commemorate the
forming of the Chatham Marine Cadet unit. This covered the march through
Chatham & Rochester, inspection, service and march-past of the cadets and
invited units. We were fortunate to be able to film the page turning
ceremony conducted by veterans from the two world wars in Rochester
Cathedral. On this occasion the Lord Lieutenant of Kent turned the pages.
