About ten years ago, I took an interest in researching the history of the village of Luton (near Chatham, Kent), where I have lived most of my life.

Enquiries were made at the local library and then I started my research. That's when I found a mass of interesting facts about transport, housing, public houses and schools in the area.

A friend, who was also looking into the local history helped, and from there, in 2002, we progressed to making a 20 minute film.

We interviewed many local people from Luton and learned so many facts about life in the area.

Sadly, some of the people we interviewed have since died, but consider it a wonderful legacy for their families to see how their relatives lived their lives and enjoyed recapping precious memories.

The following extract is from the beginning of the video. I hope you will enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it.
